WARRINGTON based Gates Housing Trust (GGHT), part of Torus, is delighted to announce that a development of new homes in Orford is nearing completion.
Following a visit to the site with local councillors, John Kerr, Brian Maher and Mike Hannon, GGHT managing director, Peter Fitzhenry, said: “One of the Council’s ambitions when setting up the trust was to build new homes. Howson Road is an early sign of how we hope to fulfil this goal in the future.”
The development of 18 two and three bedroom homes on Howson Road, all available for affordable rent, will appeal to small families, growing families and those keen to downsize.
Not only do these stylish new homes boast fully fitted kitchens, generous sized rooms and both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms, they’re ideally located close to local schools, shops and supermarkets.
Roy Smith, GGHT chair, added: “These new family homes represent a first step for the trust in building new homes. The houses are in a popular area and will make someone an ideal new home. I look forward to seeing the first tenants move in during August this year.”
The Howson Road development is one of three new GGHT developments across Warrington. A block of 20 contemporary waterside apartments at Howley Quay will also be completed late summer and development at Bewsey and Dallam’s Harrison Square is due to commence later this year.
The properties are being delivered in partnership with fellow Torus group company Helena Partnerships. The newly formed housing group, Torus, has ambitious plans to build 1,500 new homes over the next five years. Nearly 200 of these homes will be built in Warrington.
Anyone interested in renting one of new homes must first register on CHOOSEaHOME. More information can be found at www.gght.org.uk or at www.chooseahome.org.uk.

Great to see more progress! Exciting times for Torus!
How affordable and why don’t they give prices in their press releases? Affordable to them is prob way out of the reach of most people on low pay. Might be only available to people on benefits so others foot part of the bill. Anyone know ?
