LiveWire wins “partner of the year” award

WARRINGTON’S LiveWire, was awarded “Partner of the Year” at the Create Development National Awards held at Coventry.
Following curriculum changes relating to the delivery of PE in schools LiveWire introduced the real PE programme working with primary schools across the North West to deliver high quality training to support teachers in the delivery of PE within their own schools.
As part of the programme LiveWire worked with Create Development to provide an exciting and innovative offer.
To date 45 primary schools in Warrington have been trained in real PE by the LiveWire team.
Jan Parker, PE and school sport manager at LiveWire, said: “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the team here at LiveWire and proud to partner with Create Development. My desire would be that the young people of Warrington enjoy healthy, active and happy lives and I firmly believe that good teaching and learning in PE lessons forms the basis of this.”
Schools throughout Warrington have really engaged with the training provided.
Two schools in particular, Stockton Heath Primary and Bradshaw Primary were finalists at the awards ceremony, singled out from more than 3,000 schools enrolled in the programmed across the UK.
Stockton Heath Primary School was nominated for “School of the Year”. Head Teacher Dan Harding said: “My staff and children look forward to Real PE based lessons with great anticipation and talk very passionately about the huge positive impact real PE has had on behaviour, attitudes to learning and respect for self and others.
“Everyone’s perception of what physical education actually means and its benefits have changed thanks to LiveWire’s real PE training programme.”
