VIDEO: TITAN the Robot was on hand to entertain large crowds at Warrington Market as part of a Comic-Con event during a “love your local market” campaign.
Deputy leader of the council Cllr Mike Hannon said he had “never seent he town centre so busy.”
He added: “This event shows that it is certainly business as usual in the town centre during the demoliton and re-development works.”
The giant robot was part of a fun-filled day which attracted thousands of shoppers into the town centre day with other characters including Dr Who and his daleks, the Delorean the time machine from Back to the Future and much more.
There were around 50 memorabilia and collectors stalls as well an educational science exhibition and lots of free comic give-aways.
The event was one of the highlights of the market’s annual two-week ‘love your local market’ campaign which runs until May 27, in which it joins markets across the country to celebrate market shopping and local traders.
