A COMMUNITY clean up day will be taking place on Sunday 17 May in Woolston.

The council’s ranger service has teamed up with New Cut Heritage and Ecology Trail Group to clean-up along the New Cut canal between Weir Lane and New Cut Lane.

Two sessions will take place on the day, with one starting at 10am where Weir Lane meets New Cut Lane and the second starting from Bridge Lane crossing at 1pm.

Parish councillors will be attending the clean-up day and any local residents who want to get involved are welcome to.

Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said; “These community clean up days always prove to be a great success and I’m delighted to see another one taking place in Woolston.

“It’s fantastic that members of the public are so willing to help out at the clean up days and I would urge anyone who wants to kindly give up some time to take care of their local area, to get involved.”
