Public meeting to relaunch Warrington Civic Society

A PUBLIC meeting is taking place tomorrow (Tuesday May 12) to relaunch Warrington Civic Society.
Organiser John Shipley said: “I would like to invite everybody with an interest in Warrington’s heritage and future development to come to the public meeting for the relaunch of Warrington Civic Society.
“The charity has been dormant for the past few years, however I hope that with sufficient support it can once again be active in the town.
“Warrington has lost too many of its historic and iconic buildings over the years and those that remain deserve a strong preservation effort. With many new developments proposed it is also important that these are of a high standard, enhancing the built environment of our town.
“The more people who attend this meeting, and the more become members, the stronger the voice of the Civic Society will be.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 12 at the Fairfield and Howley Community Hub (The Old School) ( WA1 3AJ) starting at 7.30 pm. Free parking is available in the former playground.

The Civic Society is also active on social media with a facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/warringtoncivicsociety
