Police appeal after robbery bid

POLICE today issued an appeal for information from the public following an attempted robbery in Warrington in the early hours of Sunday, April 19.
The incident took place around 4.30am in Orford Avenue.
A 22-year-old man was walking along the road when he was approached by a man who shouted: “I’m a police officer – give me your phone”.
The victim refused to hand over his ‘phone and the offender than grabbed him and hit him in the face, before running off in the direction of Fitzherbert Street.
The offender is described as between the ages of 25-30 years, about 6 ft 1 inches tall and proportionate build, with dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark hooded top.
Anyone who has any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number CC15108758. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
