FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called out to deal with a fire in woodland in Sankey Valley Park.
They used hand extinguishers to tackle the blaze near Evelyn Street.
Damage was restricted to a quantity of refuse in a wooded area.
The cause of the outbreak has not been determined – but it could be children playing with matches.
