HUNDREDS of music fans are expected in Warrington town centre to help celebrate international Record Store Day.
They will be able to hear live bands and get their hands on limited edition vinyl at the independent Head store in Golden Square.
The big celebration takes place on Saturday, April 18.
More than 500 specially selected records have been produced for the event, from music giants such as Foo Fighters, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen to more current bands such as 1975, Peace and Biffy Clyro.
Store manager David Rafter said: “We are going to have some very collectable records on offer including a re-mastered version of Bruce Springsteen’s album Born In the USA and a picture disc of A-Ha’s iconic song Take On Me which features a still from the pop video made at the
time.
“There will be records on offer which have never been available before and we are already getting calls because for collectors, it is a real chance to get their hands on something special.
“We’ve also been getting lots of enquiries about a 12-inch clear vinyl album from a modern band called The 1975. They’re a young, indie rock band from Manchester which has developed a large following.”
