Young guns topple higher league Workington

WARRINGTON Town’s young guns pulled off a stunning 3-2 victory away at

higher league Workington FC in the second round of the Doodson Cup.
With a number of regular first team players missing ahead of Sunday’s trip to Gateshead in the 2nd Round of the F.A Cup, Warrington’s youngsters stepped up to the mark aided by several senior players and recent signings, knocking out the Evo-stik Premier League outfit on their on pitch.
James Colbeck opened the scoring after just four minutes, adding a second after 33 minutes after skipper for the night Chris Gahgan struck ther cross bar.
The home side hit back with two quick goals to level the score 2-2 at the break.
Ash Ruane (pictured right) restored the lead for Warrington in the second half as the youngsters held on to pull off a famous victory sending Warrington into the third round of the Doodson Cup.
