Charities battle for award

ST ROCCO’S Hospice is one of four local charities in the hunt for a £3,000 award.
The money is being put up by the Lloyds bank, and people can vote for the local good cause that matters most to them.
It would help to fund the hospice Living Well programme, to include art therapy, Tai Chi, relaxation techniques and mindfulness training – making a huge difference to the emotional, social and psychological well being of patients.
Also hoping to win the award is the Warrington VIP Group, which helps to teach older, visually impaired people new skills, such as glass painting and pottery making.
Another contender is the Walton Lea Project, which supports more than 70 adults with learning and other disabilities, enabling them to realise their potential through practical work, training and opportunities.
The fourth local charity is Stay Safe, an innovate project that indetifies, empowers and supports the most challenging young people in Warrington.
You can vote via the Lloyds Community Fund website by clicking here. Voting closes on November 1st.
