WARRINGTON Town are delighted to announce the signing of former Football League striker Kevin Townson.
Townson, aged 29, who scored 25 goals in 102 appearances for Rochdale from 2000-2005 has also had experience in the Football League at Macclesfield Town.
He also had a couple of seasons in Australia where he won the Bill Fleming Media Player of the Year in the Victorian Premier League in 2010 for the Melbourne Knights.
More recently he played at AFC Fylde scoring 22 times in just 35 games.
Townson joined manager Shaun Reid briefly at Warrington at the back end of last season scoring on his debut in defeat at Durham but was then sidelined with a foot injury.
He has been keeping fit through the summer working as a coach and is now looking forward to helping Warrington Town on their promotion push for the forthcoming season.
Reid said: “Kevin is a proven goal scorer and will add a new dimension to our attack. He has returned fit and ready for action.”
Townson came on as a second half substitute in the narrow 1-0 defeat by Blackburn Rovers.
