Wizards prepare for Stags party

WARRINGTON Wizards will put their unbeaten league record on the line against second place Hemel Stags on Saturday.
Hemel are set to join Championship 1 in 2013, and will be aiming to prove they are worthy to be promoted into the semi professional ranks.
However the Wizards could jump above them from third if they defeat the Stags on Saturday. With a game in hand, Nick Owen’s side will have a significant advantage as the Conference Three season begins to get into full swing.
Assistant coach Mike Grady, who steered the Wizards to a thrilling 25-22 win over South Wales Hornets on Sunday, said: “We are really looking forward to taking on Hemel this Saturday. Clashes between the two sides have always been keenly fought encounters and I am certain that this will be no exception.
“Hemel have started the season well winning three out of their four games so far, with a narrow defeat at Nottingham their only setback. They have plenty of quality in their ranks, and with them being accepted into the professional ranks next season they will be looking to have a successful run this year.”
Grady took the helm against the Wizards as both Owen and fellow assistant coach Paul Alcock were both absent. Despite being pushed heavily by seventh placed South Wales on Sunday, Grady is still confident his side can overcome a strong Hemel side.
He said: “I am confident though that if we produce the effort and commitment that we showed at South Wales then we will be very difficult to beat. We have to perform consistently each week if we are to achieve our goals and we will be working hard in training this week to make sure we are fully prepared for the game.”
Wizards will host Hemel Stags at Wilderspool Stadium on Saturday, May 19 with the match kicking off at 2.30pm. Admission is £3 for adults, and £1 for concessions.
