EUCLID Park, Grappenhall and Barley Road Park, Thelwall, are to be re-named to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council has decided the two parks to become Diamond Park and Jubilee Park, respectively.
Commemorative plaques are to be purchased for each park.
A sub-committee of the council has been authorised to spend up to £2,500 on events relating to the Jubilee.
Expenditure will include embossed bookmarks for local schoolchildren, bunting for the two village centres and production of a Jubilee booklet, to be compiled by clerk Janet Richards.
