Man arrested after flats blaze

A MAN was arrested at Warrington in the early hours of the morning following an incident when a fire was started in a block of flats.
The man was subsequently freed on bail, pending further enquiries – and police are appealing for help from the public.
It was around 4am yesterday that police arrested the 48-year-old man in Gladstone Street, Warrington on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and racially aggravated public order.
A small fire had been started in a block of flats, involving rubbish in a communal area. Fire crews went to the scene but found the blaze had burned itself out.
The man helped police with their enquiries and was subsequently bailed.

The fire was first reported by Warrington-Worldwide yesterday.
