WARRINGTON Town manager Joey Dunn has secured the signing of former striker Gavin Salmon who could go straight into the squad for tonight’s home fixture with Bamber Bridge.
Salmon reluctantly left Cantilever Park during the summer after spending the back end of last season on the bench and joined Evo-Stik NPL First Division North rivals Salford City at the start of the 2011/2012 campaign.
He returns to the club for a second spell after playing for the Wire for 18 months previously.
He has experience in the Northern Premier League having represented Woodley and has also played in the Blue Square Bet North for Hye and Droylsden and Leigh RMI.
Salmon, who has netted 11 times in 22 outings for Salford this season, including one against the Wire at Cantilever Park, could make his debut in tonight’s fixture at Cantilever Park which kicks off at 7:45pm.
He is the second player who left Cantilever Park in the summer to return, the other being Allan Collins who had a brief spell at Skelmersdale.
Salmon is expected to be in the squad for tonight’s game, kick off 7.45pm pending league clearance.
