Don't complain about negative news!

WE often hear people complaining about the media reporting about negative news – well unfortunately the vast majority of you can only blame yourselves!
Now with the new look www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk website we can see exactly which stories attract the most interest – and sadly the ones which contain headlines involving words like sex, rapist, murder, crash, robbery, killed, violence e.t.c.are the ones which get read the most!
Being a free publication it is not necessary to sell news but we still have a duty to report on what the public find interesting.
So next time you find yourself complaining about the media always reporting doom and gloom, take a hrad look at yourself in the mirror and think about what makes you buy a newspaper, pick up a magazine or read a news website.
Here at warrington-worldwide and our sister publications in Lymm, Stockton Heath, Culcheth and Frodsham we
have always concentrated on focusing on local community events and reporting positive news stories – which is something we will always continue to do, as we feel these areas are often overlooked or not given the coverage they deserve elsewhere.
But we will also continue to report on news, be it positive or negative on our daily newspaper website until the day
comes when it no longer serves the public interest – although I fear that day will never come as the tabloids with the
biggest scandal stories continue to be the big sellers.
God knows why society has become obsessed with so called celebrities and wanting to know who is sleeping with who.
Apparently publicist Max Clifford says that photographs of Angelina Jollie’s new twins could fetch £10 million!
The mind boggles – and to think half the world’s starving and children are dying every day from malnutrition – yet someone who has more money than most will see in a life time can now expect another windfall thanks to achieving something which is a daily event somewhere on the planet!
